:: TIMM KETERITZ

All the work featured here is called "VIRTUAL WATER inside products" by a guy called Timm Keteritz, originally from Germany but is now in San Francisco.
I discovered his work in the latest IDN magazine 'we heart infographics' issue.
Here he decided to "combine two elements that he found being constantly underestimated: infographics and the importance of water.
Keteritz developed THE VIRTUAL WATER PROJECT as the footprint of a person, a company and a nation, defined by the total volume of fresh water used to produce the commodities, goods and services consumed by that person, company or nation."

I love the simple symbols to represent some information. Completely simplifying it in order to it to be better understood and visually engaging.
This work also links perfectly with the sustainability brief I'm doing at the moment, I love it!

The Poster

"Based on the data gathered by Hoeckstra et al. in their study »Water Footprint of Nations« German designer Timm Kekeritz created this double-sided poster. One side visualizes the water footprint of selected nations, emphasizing the im- and export of virtual water. The other side shows the virtual water content of selected foods and commodities.
The design itself is minimalistic - using silhouettes and typography only. The fonts used are TheSans and TheSerif by Berlin-based Dutch type designer Luc(as) de Groot. The printed version also shows water drops in a shiny finish, emphasizing the virtual character of the water contained in our everyday goods." - www.traumkrieger.de/virtualwater/
