::Prague - Day 3 "The John Lennon Wall"

Tuesday 9th May 2007

"John Lennon Wall" - From Lennon's 1980 murder until the communists' 1989 downfall, this wall was where activists defied the antipop authorities by scribbling Beatles lyrics and peace slogans. Lennonova zed got whitewashed in 1998 but today it's once again a psychedelic mess of spray-painted pictures and names, now scrawled by tourists, in numerous languages.

I had read about the John Lennon Wall before going to Prague, in my guide book thing....and out of everything featured in the book, this was probably the one attraction of Prague I wanted to see on our trip. Obviously, once i'd got there and read into more stuff, there was other attractions I wanted to check out.
The wall is in a really random place, took a bit of finding down lots of creepy alley ways..alley ways with creepy drunken Prague men...urgh!
I didn't realise how big the wall was.....a mass of colours and languages...it was beautiful!! There was a few other tourists checking it out, not as busy as it could be becuase of it's strange and out-of-the-way location.

WE decided to add our own message to the wall....we managed to find the perfect spot..inside a big yellow heart :D we all signed our names....and we gave Nicky the honor of writing "Graphics Crew"....which she ended up spelling wrong...pish!!
