As this week in Prague was based on a research week, as part of the Graphic Design course. We were, of course, given some work to do whilst we were over there...
For this brief we were asked to base out research on 5 main areas....
For example, as part of my personal development, i chose to..
1. Take pictures of male and female symbols (Ladies and Gents signs)
2. Take pictures of doors
3. Take pictures of fences, railings or gates
4. Collect receipts from all purchases (whish wasn't many)
5. Take pictures of interesting Grpahics stuff I discover walking around, i.e Grafitti and stickers
So....here is some of the "stuff" I gathered..
::MALE AND FEMALE SYMBOLS
These Ladies and Gents signs ^^ weren't actually in Prague, but in Bourban in Leeds....but I found these the day before flying to Prague...and this is what made me decide to look for them in Prague.
Ladies and Gent's signs are something we all take for granted, just a piece of information that has become invisible. But if you really look....there are so many ways they are designed....but all have the same message.
Out of all the Male and Female symbols I came accross in Prague, this collection spray painted onto the wall are my FAVOURITE!!!!
At first I didnt realise that these were the doors to the Ladies and Gents toilets. You never ever see this kind of art on doors in england, especially when it comes to informing people that these are just toilet doors.
